Pursuing their aspirations is the pleasures of these desires then conform to the society. Pursuing their aspirations is addictive. They rebelled once and wanted to continue to rebel because they liked the feeling of freedom. In 1984, George Orwell suggests that individuals who choose to pursue their personal desires instead of conforming, often become blinded and easily deceived because they are unable to see beyond their immediate pleasures. Once fear takes over, it forces them to conform and forget about their desires.
